बहुआयामी व्यक्तित्व या बहुआयामवाद को परिभाषित करने से पहले निम्न धारणा पर विशेष ध्यान आकर्षित करते हैं
बहुआयामी शब्द की उत्पत्ति आयामों, विमाओं, दिशाओं, से होती है
उदाहरण के तौर पर यदि बहुआयामी की बात करें तो देखते हैं कि हम तीन दिशाओं में जीवन व्यतीत कर रहे हैं जिसको हम आगे, पीछे आएं, बाएँ, ऊपर, नीचे बोल पाते हैं
उदाहरण के तौर पर यदि किसी कीड़े को एक धागे पर रेंगने के लिए स्वतंत्र कर दिया जाए तो वह एक ही विमा का अनुभव कर सकेगा ठीक इसी प्रकार यदि उसे एक मेज पर बैठा दिया जाए तो वह दो विमाओं का अनुभव करेगा यदि वही कीड़ा उड़ने के लिए स्वतंत्र है तो वह तीन दिशाओं का अनुभव कर सकेगा।
ठीक इसी प्रकार से बहुआयामी शिक्षा बहुआयामी तकनीकी और बहुआयामी अनुसंधान को संज्ञान में लेते हुए बहुआयामवाद की परिभाषा दी जा रही है।
यदि एक बहुआयामी व्यक्तित्व की बात करें तो जो कई पहलुओं पर एक ही समय पर बात रखने और कार्य करने का हुनर रखता है जो कि किसी अभिरुचि हो या शर्तों के साथ संदर्भित रहता है बहुआयामी व्यक्तित्व में बहुआयामी प्रतिभा, बहुआयामी संघर्ष, बहुआयामी साहस, बहुआयामी क्षमता, बहुआयामी जिज्ञासा, बहुआयामी गतिविधियां, बहुआयामी असीमित व्यक्तित्व, बहुआयामी आध्यात्मिक विकास, और बहुआयामी व्यक्तिगत विकास, बहुआयामी ज्ञान, और कौशल की सार्व भौमिकता बहुआयामी तर्क संगत के रूप में निरंतर अथाह सागर आगे बढ़ते रहने का व्यक्तित्व है।

यह बहुमुखी संभावनाओं की सीमाओं का विस्तार, प्रयासों के आवेदन बिंदु चुनने की स्वतंत्रता, अनुभवों से सीखने की क्षमता, निष्क्रियता और उबाऊ पन से मुक्ति, रचनात्मकता और आत्म अभिव्यक्ति से आनंद, आसपास के पर्यावरण का आवरण, बहुआयामी ज्ञान की बहुमुखी प्रतिभा को प्रदर्शित करता रहता है।
बहुमुखी प्रतिभा के लिए आवश्यक है कि विभिन्न क्षेत्रों, के अपने ज्ञान, कौशल, शैक्षिक स्वाद, अभ्यास, श्रम, व्यवहारिक उपकरण, को लहराते हुए अपने व्यक्तित्व की खेती, उपज करने का प्रयास करता रहता है।
संक्षिप्त में कहा जा सकता है कि ऐसा व्यक्तित्व जिसने अनेक आयाम, अनेक विचार, अनेक स्तर, अनेक कोण, अनेक दिशा, अनेक परिमाण, अनेक धारणाओं, का सटीक मार्ग दर्शन हो।
अनंतः प्रत्येक व्यक्ति बहुआयामी व्यक्तित्व का मालिक होता है इसके सकारात्मक नकारात्मक महत्व व पहचान को समझे बगैर समाज या विश्व में शांति लाना असंभव सा लगता है, वैश्विक सामाजिक परिस्थितियों में बदलाव का जिम्मेवार प्रत्येक बहुआयामी व्यक्तित्व ही होता है
उदाहरण के तौर पर यदि मैं ओर आप हम एक बहुआयामी व्यक्तित्व के हैं और मेरी सारी पहचाने बहुआयामी सही दिशाओं में हैं तो मैं और आप हम निश्चित तौर पर विश्व में शांति और विकास की दिशा में बेहतर चमत्कारी बदलाव करने में सक्षम हो सकेंगे।
यदि निरंतर प्रगति करने में गलती से दिशाओं का फेर बदल होता है तो निश्चित तौर पर विश्व पतन की ओर पहुंचने के लिए बाध्य होता रहेगा
(उदाहरण के तौर पर बहुआयामी विज्ञान ने परमाणु बम का आविष्कार करके दिखाया है) और निश्चित तौर पर बहुआयामी व्यक्तित्व नष्ट होता चला जाएगा।
यदि किसी भी कार्य को बिना गलती किए हुए लगातार किया जाए और बिना कठिनाई से किया जाए तो वह बौद्धिक क्षमता का सूचक माना जाता है।
वर्तमान समाज की स्थिति और परिस्थितियों को समझते हुए शिक्षा तकनीकी एवं अनुसंधान में अहम बहुआयामी सोच के साथ बदलाव करने की आवश्यकता है। जो की बहुआयामवाद बहुआयामी राजनीतिक पार्टी का प्रमुख उद्देश्य रहेगा।

1. बहुआयामवाद के कार्यकर्ता कीटाणु की तरह सक्रिय निष्क्रिय होकर उत्प्रेरक/केटलिस्ट की तरह कार्य करते रहेंगे।
2. बहुआयामवाद गांधीजिज्म, अंबेडकरवाद की विचार धारा पर तथा ब्रिटिशवाद के खिलाफ आगे बढ़ती रहेगी।
3. बहुआयामवाद भारतीय स्वदेशी कृषि तथा प्रौद्योगिकी प्राणी पर भारतीयों को निर्भर करवाती रहेगी।
4. बहुआयामवाद किसी भी भारतीय राजनीतिक दलों के कार्यकर्ताओं का सम्मान करती रहेगी।
5. बहुआयामवाद के समस्त राजनीतिक कार्य पार्टी तथा भारतीय संवैधानिक के तहत होते रहेंगे।
6. बहुआयामवाद सरकारी विभागीय समितियों पर अहम राजनैतिकरण नीतियां बनाती रहेगी।
7. बहुआयामवाद विपक्ष की भूमिका निभाने में किसी भी प्रकार का कोई समझौता नहीं करेगी।
8. बहुआयामवाद शिक्षा तकनीकी एवं अनुसंधान के क्षेत्र में अहम राजनैतिक रणनीतियां बनाती रहेगी।
9. बहुआयामवाद का कोई भी कार्यकर्ता धर्म लिंग जाति आदि का भेदभाव ना करते हुए बहुआयामवाद की शपथ लेता रहेगा।
10. बहुआयामवाद जाति वाद धर्म वाद परिवार वाद क्षेत्र वाद में विश्वास ना करते हुए निरंतर आगे बढ़ती रहेगी।
